Fleurs Fannées |
Roses and Sunflowers
These are fun to make dimensional flowers that may be used in a variety of ways. E.g. To decorate the lids of fabric-covered boxes and to add texture to appliqué hangings. These flowers can be seen in the Fleurs Fannées design above. All levels.
Flowers from simple shapes
From circles it is easy to create buttercups, violets and anemones. Folded strips become primroses in this dimensional flower workshop and frayed strips are turned into cornflowers and carnations. Cyclamens and dahlias are among other flowers easily made from simple machined shapes. Easy machine and hand sewing for all levels.
TWO DAY WORKSHOP
Wild Flower Basket
Learn how to create a woven basket using fabric strips made with bias bars. The basket is appliquéd onto the background and then filled with wild flowers most of which are dimensional. Have fun making foxgloves, ox-eye daisies, cornflowers and primroses. Either make your own flower arrangement or use the pattern in the Country Pleasures range. Suitable for all levels although some knowledge of hand appliqué is useful. The two days need not be consecutive so as to allow time to work on the design between sessions.

Workshops
Please contact me if you would like to discuss the choice of workshop for your group or shop.
From 2007 I will be teaching some of my new designs from my book The Applique Garden
Full day workshop £145. Traveling expenses as above. Overnight accommodation is requested when travelling time is more than 3 hours from my home.
I recommend a maximum number of 15 students in a workshop as a lot of techniques are covered in my sessions and this allows students to get maximum benefit, especially in groups of mixed experience. |
